Sydney shores designs
In April of 2020, I finally decided to pursue a goal of mine, which is to start my own business, Sydney Shores Designs. Through sudden changes in the world due to COVID-19, I suddenly found myself with time to do just that, translate my ideas into something that other people might also like. I am constantly inspired by what is around me, people, places, trends - and my designs are based on just that. I designed over 30 different unique pairs of earrings, around 10 prints, and a few stickers to launch my shop. The feedback I received was amazing, and motivated me to expand my ideas further, by designing totes, candles, cups, and more prints and stickers.
Throughout the past year, I have shipped orders to 24 states, had 8 pop-up shops at various Athens locations, had over 500 Etsy shop sales, and met so many other amazing small business owners. It has been a very rewarding experience running my own business, and Iām excited to see how it continues to grow and expand out of the city of Athens and into the amazing city of New York.

packaging
Every order is packaged with tissue paper, iridescent paper, earrings in a drawstring bag, a thank you card, and a monthly notecard (pictured on left).
ads
I have made graphics for almost every sale on my shop. Below are some examples of sale ads I have done.
pop-up shops
I have done 6 Pop-Up Shops in around six months at various locations around Athens. Pictured below, I was asked by my former sorority to table at their Mommy-Daughter event in March at the Taylor Grady House. This was by far the most successful day I have ever had in my business, so it will always be very memorable! I met so many amazing people that day, and my mom also helped me work the table, which was special.
HOW TO: resin earrings
The steps behind the resin magic! Watch the video below if you want to learn about my earring making process. In an After Effects course in Spring of 2020, our last project was to create a How-To video of anything we wanted. I decided to show everyone my earring making process!
