I started my first scrapbook soon after I graduated college and moved to New York in October of 2021. I immediately started documenting almost everything I did on disposable cameras, but I didn’t know what to do with my collection of photos yet. I was used to art classes in college and creating almost daily, and really wanted to find a hands-on creative outlet while not working a creative job at the time.
I was visiting home one weekend and sifted through the scrapbooks my mom made when I was growing up, and even found one that I made as a child with pictures of my dog. I came back to the city inspired to do the same and tell the story of my adult life through scrapbooking.
I’ve always been a collector of things: postcards, business cards, matchbooks, magazines, even stickers stuck to poles. I started out taping down pictures and writing notes on a page, or making a page of only postcards and business cards; it was very minimalistic. I then started combining the two on the same page, adding some background paper, stickers, and washi tape, and the next thing I knew, my scrapbook came to life!
Below are a few of my favorite pages! I have designed over 100 pages since 2021!
