Pull

The dating app that bridges love and exercise

For my senior Capstone project, I was given the choice to design anything I wanted, and then to display in our Exit Show at the end of the semester. With this creative freedom, I started to focus on and listen to the wants and needs of people around me in my daily life. Most of these responses were wants concerning romantic partners, and wants regarding their exercise levels or weight. With this information, I started brainstorming with my friend at the gym one day. Just like that, the idea of Pull was created and I got to work on the features and design of the app.

The process:

I have always seen attractive men at the gym, but it is an unspoken rule that everyone kind of does their own thing at the gym. I would never go up and talk to a man, interrupting his workout, just to say hello. With the app Pull, users can select their gym, so everyone on the dating app should be fellow members of the gym. Users select days that they’re often at the gym, can answer prompts on their profile, chat, and also share workouts with not only matches, but anyone at the gym. It is designed to be a closer knit aspect of the gym, and an easy communicator between people who love exercise without bombarding each other while they are actually in the zone.
