About ME!

My name is Sydney Shores and I am a second-year Graphic Design major at the University of Georgia. I was born and raised in Grayson, GA where I was taught at a young age by my mom to love art. My mom and I made crafts practically everyday, and my love for art continued to grow with age. In middle and high school I took multiple art classes, always being referred to by my friends as the “artistic friend”. I knew then that art had a special place in my heart, but it was not until freshman year of college that I felt as if art was truly my calling. I decided to make it my major instead of just a hobby. Now, I am more immersed in art than ever, enjoying every minute of it and learning so much every day.

I tend to focus a lot on color. I am immediately drawn to bright, happy colors. When I create designs, I always gravitate toward colors that I enjoy and that reflect my mood or my personality. To me, the most successful designs tell a story and give off a mood. When I design, I try to think long and hard about my color usage.

Many of my designs have an illustration factor. I enjoy creating light-hearted, cute designs that make people smile.

I grow more and more as a designer as each day passes. I am obsessed with learning new tools that can help me become the best designer I can possibly be.
